Kaylee Sadafsaz
Kaylee Danielle Sadafsaz of Plano, TX, has been studying voice and piano since the age of 5. Ever since she was a child, music has played a large role in her life. As she continued to progress through her educational years, she made sure music was in it. A graduate from Plano Senior High School, she was in the school marching band, the varsity mixed choir, the varsity women's choir, jazz choir, and the chamber choir all at the same time. It was then she had established what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. Life without music was not an option.
Kaylee graduated with high honors (Magna Cum Laude) at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education. She completed her student teaching practicum in Cambridge, MA at Graham & Parks Elementary, and Cambridge St. Upper School. Her primary instrument is voice, and her secondary is piano. She also plays the flute, clarinet, saxophone, and trumpet. While attending Berklee, she was the lead singer in the Berklee Music Education Big Band, as well as the director of the Music Education Carl Orff ensemble. She has had the privilege of studying and working with Derrick Brookins (UNT graduate), Jerome Kyles (Berklee graduate), Walter Beasley (Berklee graduate), Karen Carr (Berklee graduate), and Lois Landrum (Baylor graduate). Her main genres of interest are Classical, Pop/R&B, Jazz, and Blues. She is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) as well as the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA), and is also an active member of the National Association for Music Educators (NAfME). Kaylee represented Berklee at the MMEA Convention as a collegiate ambassador, and was the only student from Berklee to receive the Promising Music Educator in Vocal Music award from the state of Massachusetts.
Upon graduating and moving back to the great state of Texas, Kaylee worked at 6 different schools in Plano ISD. She was a private voice instructor at Hendrick Middle School, Carpenter Middle School, Vines High School, Clark High School, Jasper High School, and her alma mater, Plano Senior High. Currently, Kaylee is the Director of Choirs at Pioneer Hertigage Middle School in Frisco, TX. She is also a member of the award winning Dallas Symphony Chorus. Kaylee is a bright, charismatic, and talented woman. She teaches to help students gain an understanding of their place in the world musically, as well as educating her students to explore beyond the black and white notes on paper.
Aside from her life being dedicated to music, on her free time, Kaylee loves swimming, biking, golfing, working out, and spending quality time with her husband Christopher, loved ones, friends, and adorable pets. She also takes part in several charities and organizations such as St. Jude's, The ASPCA, Habitat for Humanity, and The Animal Rescue League of Boston.
